NAMPA — The risk was well worth the reward for the Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen on Monday. Coeur d'Alene, leading 8-0 after three innings, pulled starting left-handed pitcher Jayden Butler after three innings and 27 pitches for a reliever, then went on to beat the Pocatello Runnin' Rebels 11-3 in the Idaho State AA tournament at Rodeo Park, advancing to the semifinals today. Butler will start today's semifinal game for the Lums (34-10) against Idaho Falls (29-9-1) at 9 a.m. PDT, with the winner advancing to face Pocatello (29-14) in the championship game today at noon.
